Blowing Rock - Day 2

We went to Mast General store today in Blowing Rock. We found this awesome old barn behind the store...a perfect setting to take some pictures.

We spent the weekend in Blowing Rock where we rented a cabin with friends.

Emma's Kindergarten Graduation

Class play

Gavin's class put on a series of skits/plays. Gavin was the narrator for his group.

Go-go's games

Gavin & Emma play some "marble" like games where they knock each other's go-go's out based on points.

Go-Go's

Another new craze...go-go's! These little guys are sold in packs of 3 for $2 and you never know what you may get. The kids like to trade them with each other and play games with them.

Rescued

We found this little guy swimming in the pool. Chris rescued him & put him in the woods.

I found Gavin & Emma playing in the corner of the living room. Love when I capture these moments between them. Kids love little nooks!

Ooops

The boys were playing kickball in the cul-de-sac & Preston really kicked the ball...it got stuck on the lightpost!

Magnolia

We planted a magnolia tree by the pool & we have our first flower....isn't it pretty & it's smells amazing.

Exhausted

After a weekend full of family sleepover, soccer party, and learning to hula hoop Emma was exhausted. This is how I found her at dinner time yesterday. She fell asleep watching tv while I made dinner.

Soccer party

We had the end of season soccer party at our house today. The team gave Coach Chris a signed soccer ball which he keeps in his office. It was a fun day for the Tigers!

Sleepover

We had a sleepover tonight in the family room. The kids love bring out the air matteress having our sleepovers.

Gavin's Field Day

Gavin's Field Day was today. And fortunately it didn't rain but boy was it hot!!! It's a good thing some of the games they played involved water.

Thirst quencher

Sports have been in full swing. I had coupons for gatoraide & since we seem to go through it faster than we can keep it in the house I stocked up at BJ's today.

Beta Club

Jake was inducted into the Beta Club at his school, Brawley Middle. We are so proud of his acedemic successes.

Emma's Field Day

Emma's field day was today. They were only outside for a few minutes when it started raining. They played some games in the cafeteria & will make up their actual field day later.

Want some popcorn?

Chris & the kids made be an awesome popcorn bowl. They used the tips of their fingers to make the popcorn on the bowl. LOVE!!!

Mother's Day

After opening my wonderful handmade gifts from my beautiful children we spent the day at Riverbanks Zoo. We had lunch in the botanical gardens then walked around the zoo with Chris' family.

Snoozer

Gavin was sleeping late on this Saturday morning so I went to check on him. This is how I found him sleeping in his bed with his head at the bottom of his bed all wrapped in his blanket.

Homework

Gavin & Emma do their homework together at the island everyday as soon as they get home from school. They like to get it done first before playing.

Parent Observation

It was parent observation day in Emma's ballet/tap class.

Gavin's 1st Holy Communion

Gavin made his 1st Holy Communion today. We were surrounded by family & friends and counting our blessings on his special day.

Family visit

Gavin's 1st communion is tomorrow so our family came for his special day! We finally used the firepit Chris got last year for his birthday.

Cleaning day

Night of the Arts

Gavin & Emma's school have a "Night of the Arts" every year.

Cheerleading & Tumble

Emma participated in cheerleading after school once a week for the past 6 weeks. Today was her last class & the parents were able to come watch. Emma also takes tumble classes once a week. Today was also parent observation for that class too.
